    The Market Manager will lead the market’s operational and strategic efforts to grow the clusters’ market share, rank and achieve budget goals while partnering with management to provide a clear vision and goals for all departments, build support for staff development, brand recognition and a collaborative team environment. Must be business savvy, have good judgment and possess a keen understanding of radio broadcasting digital media and their operations. Ensures compliance with federal and state agencies, including the FCC.

    Pamal Broadcasting is seeking a highly motivated individual with exceptional accounting, communication, and organizational skills to join our knowledgeable accounting team! Pamal is a family-owned and locally ran radio group with several radio stations throughout medium-to-small markets in the Northeast.

    Responsibilities Include
    Oversee and process daily Accounts Receivable activity
    Reconcile bank activity daily
    Oversee and process daily Accounts Receivable activity
    Oversee monthly billing process
    Analyzes and organizes office operations and procedures.
    Prepares a complete monthly financial statement according to guidelines
    Maintains an effective cash management system. Forecasts cash needs.
    Controls petty cash amounts for radio station and sales department.
    Reconciles all general ledger accounts monthly.
    Approves adjustments to receivable accounts.
    Prints monthly journals, schedules, and general ledger. Closes month by processing accounting month-end.
    Participates in the preparation of short-term and long-term forecasts.
    Assists in completion of annual review/audit.
    Ensures compliance with all government regulations.
    Posts payroll and maintains payroll records.
    Prepares tax reports, tax deposits, and tax returns in a timely, accurate manner.
    Approves new charge accounts and oversees collection of past due accounts.
    Compiles information and prepares reports as requested by management
    Cross-trains a qualified substitute.
    Perform other duties as assigned.
    Preferred Experience
    Associates degree in accounting/finance is required; bachelor’s preferred
    Three to Five years of related experience
    Hands-on experience working with general ledgers and accounting software, especially Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains
    Proficient with Excel
    Able to prioritize work effectively and meet deadlines

    Responsibilities:
    Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
    Print and obtain signatures on all accounts payable checks
    Distribute signed checks as required
    Act as a liaison between corporate and branch accounts payable
    Answer all vendor inquiries regarding payments
    Maintain all accounts payable reports, spreadsheets, and corporate accounts payable files
    Assist in monthly closing
    Prepare analysis of accounts as needed

    Qualifications:

    Responsibilities:
    Audit contracts and orders to ensure accuracy and completeness.
    Prepare standard journal entries for month-end closing
    Perform monthly bank reconciliations for depository accounts
    Review expense accounts to ensure proper expense disclosure and classification
    Assist in preparing the month-end balance sheet review and work with management to reconcile any differences
    Compile all the required month-end reports and files
    Help management in budget preparation as needed
    Prepare and distribute 1099, 1096, and other tax-related forms

    Mail out monthly billing sheets
    Update asset schedules

    Qualifications:

    After interning with Albany Broadcasting, you will have knowledge and an understanding of station programming, show preparation and execution, technical aspects such as recording, mixing, and editing, as well as an introduction to the business side of radio.

    Production: Provide assistance to the Production Department
    Programming: Assist the Program Director in day-to-day operations of programming radio stations
    Promotions: Assist with the organization of station events and appearances
    Sales: Offer support to the sales staff and managers, handling office work, meeting with clients, and developing business

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following:

    Production

    Assist with coordination of traffic department and sales staff to expedite radio commercials and rotation of commercials according to the specifications requested by clients / sales department.
    File and organize copy.
    Prepare the system for proper placement of commercials.
    Call clients and play commercials for approval.

    Programming

    · Off-air support, collecting caller information, calling potential guests, participating in promotional activities and other show preparation.
    · Protect the station’s license through strict adherence to FCC rules and regulations.
    · Attend meetings with programming and promotions staff.
    · Perform on-air shift, remotes, and appearances as needed.

    Promotions

    Assist with the planning and execution of station events and appearances.
    Pack and unpack vehicles, set-up and tear down equipment at events.
    Promote our stations by giving away station merchandise and manning station booths at events.
    Place banners, tent, table, and vehicle in prominent spot at events.
    Coordinate on-site giveaways.
    Take photos at events in order to report on success of the event.
    Handle contest fulfillments of the station including daily interaction with listeners.
    Participate in weekly promotions meetings.
    Monitor other station’s promotions, contests, events, and acts.
    Regularly manage inventory of prize closets.
    Represent the station to the public in a manner that supports the station’s brand.
    Make photocopies and send faxes as needed.

    Sales

    · Enters sales orders into Marketron system and process revisions as needed.
    · Handle sales confirmations.
    · Maintain sales order files for the market.
    · Ensure orders are entered into Marketron in a timely manner.
    · Maintain current sales prices on the network computer drive.
    · Coordinate, plan, and execute sales events such as client golf outing.
    · Assist with sending out sales promotions and events recaps within 48 hours of the event.
    · Handle specific company trade accounts as assigned and communicate with VP of Sales regarding account status.
    · Act as back up to the National Sales Assistant when needed.
    · Act as back up to the traffic department and other office staff as needed.
    · Assist General Manager and/or Vice President of Sales on projects as needed.
    · Attend sales meetings as requested.

    EXTRA-CURRICULAR FUNCTIONS

    In addition to the aforementioned requirements, an intern may be asked to do some of the following:

    ·Develop and produce on-air segments
    ·Go on the air for a limited amount of time

    You will be representing our family of radio stations at events throughout the Capital Region.     We are looking for:

    - Individuals who are primarily available evenings and weekends – weekday daytime availability is a plus

    - Individuals MUST have a clean driving record and MUST be 18 years of age or older with 3 years of driving experience

    - Individuals who are detail oriented and organized

    - Individuals who are self-motivated and proactive with outgoing, positive attitude

    - Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

    - Ability to lift up to 30lbs
