Update 2:21pm: Fox News is reporting that the explosion was an attempted terrorist attack.
Reports are coming out of western New York that a vehicle exploded at a security checkpoint between the US and Canadian Border. The explosion happened Wednesday afternoon at the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls.
Video from a viewer sent to WIVB in Niagara Falls shows a plume of smoke rising near the border crossing. All bridges in western New York between the US and Canada have been closed. The FBI is investigating and Governor Kathy Hochul tweeted that she is monitoring the situation.
